Friends, I’m happy to share my next destination. I’m headed to Reuters to cover the White House.

Reuters, by some measures, is the largest news organization in the world. These numbers are simply astounding:

  • 2,500 journalists, plus another 600 photojournalists

  • Reporting from more than 165 countries

  • Publishing in 12 languages

  • Journalism that reaches 1 billion people a day

I’ll still be focused on President Trump’s economic policies — taxes, spending, trade, and so much more. The White House’s economic agenda is defining so much on the world stage, dictating war and peace, upending historic alliances, and redefining the relationship between the state and enterprise, and between enterprise and consumer.

I’m thrilled to be writing about that for a global audience.

And, yes, before you ask, my new editors said I can still write about the U.S. Postal Service.

I have a nice slug of time off before I start my new role. In the meantime, I want to hear from you.

What should I be covering?

Who do you want to learn more about?

What’s happening in your economy that you wish you were seeing in the news?

I’ll still be playing around with this newsletter, so if you clicked in, please subscribe! It’s the best way to keep in touch, even better than social media.

In the meantime, here’s Reuters’s incredibly generous announcement about my new role.

Jacob Bogage, a White House correspondent who covered Trump’s fiscal policy, Elon Musk’s DOGE disruptions and the MAGA movement’s internal frictions for The Washington Post, joins the Reuters White House team to focus on economic policy. Jacob, who also covered Congress, business and sports in more than a decade at the Post, is known for his relentless quest for scoops and his collaborative approach to breaking news. If you have a few hours to kill, ask him about the U.S. Postal Service, which he also covered with memorable enthusiasm.
